For those of you who know what's up join us this Thursday for SF's famous mobile dance party! Mancub (Space Cowboys) joins Raydeus (Pronoia) and Alxndr (TransportedSF, DownLow, False Profit) for a night of funky beats: breaks, hip hop, electrotech and more. This one is not to be missed. We've been scouting new spots and have a couple interesting ones to bring you to.

All tickets for DJ buses are $20 plus a small service fee. We meet at Shine for check-in at 7:30pm and the bus leaves at 8pm returning you at 11:30pm. Tickets can be purchased through the web site.

my DJ set from Pisces in the Park

Sunday the 16th was such a fun, epic day, I just wanted to re-live it in some small way. We didn't actually record the DJ sets, so I re-created and re-recorded my set to the best of my memory. (If we had recorded the live set, it would have featured a 2-minute gap where the power accidentally got turned off....) This mix essentially is a bunch of (mostly) brand new techfunk & breaks slammers that I knew Strawberry would like. She did, as it turned out.

Full disclosure... this isn't the exact tracklist from the party. I didn't use some of the same tracks because I already used them in recorded mixes past. I just couldn't bring myself to repeat tracks, when there are so many perfectly good ones always coming out, that I hadn't used yet. (yes I know, I am psycho)

I want to thank the whole bright and beautiful pronoia family that came out to have a great time and support a whomping DJ lineup, and fill an amazing unique space with your love, your attitude and most importantly, your dancefloor selves.

Massive shoutout to Dex Stakker for helping me schlep all of our heavy ass speakers up and down stairs with his signature and infectious positive attitude.

I personally had one of the most epic nights of my life at Bass:Libration this year, and it was pure pleasure to see so many smiling faces dancing their asses off right up and until closing at 5 f'ing thirty in the AM on saturday.

You can rest assured that we'll be doing it again!

Lawgiverz (Trigger/Botchit) - UK

Lawgiverz, a.k.a. R-Kidz and Noize, have been dropping audio bombs for the last five years on Botchit & Scarper, Trigger Recordings and more. Lawgiverz have produced, programmed and remixed with a bizarre selection of artists such as Jeff Beck, Dave Stewart and The Human League. They would like you to know that none of this really matters. Just that if you find yourself in front of the Trigger sound system or at DNA during their laptop and turntable set, prepare to be destroyed with a helping of alien love in the Electrobreaks style.

Fine Cut Bodies (Chi Recordings/Record Records) - Budapest

Even though the name Fine Cut Bodies implies more than one person, behind the FCB letters is only one man, Kevin aka Attila Fodor. His musical tastes are extremely broad which is reflected in the musical preferences of *Chi Recordings*, the label he co-founded in 2000. One of the most important taste-maker DJs in Hungary, he has been one of the key DJs/promoters that built up the huge breaks scene in Hungary and he is now starting to build up the world class underground minimal and tech-house scene in Budapest.

As a DJ, Kevin's taste is determined more by his musical attitude than by any specific genre: he looks for music that's experimental but not selfish, interesting but not unlistenable. As a producer, he has released tracks in many genres and is always looking for new sonic adventures. Kevin's tracks have been licensed for numerous compilations and he has collaborated with and remixed for some of the hottest names in electronic music.

new electro-tech-glitch house mix

I finally got down to recording a mix of this kinda stuff I've been digging lately.... it starts out with deep/minimal-house, and then meanders through electro-house and tech-house territory... but it's all pretty funky and a good portion of crunchy goodness.

It's a departure for me... just trying to diversify, y'know... it's very mellow, given the sound I usually put out there...

I'd like to take an informal survey of people, hope you all can help me out. The Pronoia crew has an opportunity to book a venue for the date of December 30-- one night before NYE.

At first it seems like not the best date, but consider: It's a Saturday night, and it seems like many of those who go to Pronoia events are planning to go to Breakfast of Champions on Jan 1 and skip NYE parties Sunday night.

The event would be at a club in SF, and we'd go from 10pm til 3 or 4am.

In the process of going through older vinyl to see what i might be able to part with, I re-discovered some gems and it occurred to me how well the old gems would mesh with some "new" old gems recently acquired. So I decided to turn the housecleaning into a legacy project instead.

So, ready to get down like it's 2003? The first mix in what I hope will become a series, is titled Pronoia... it just seemed to make sense.....the start of something positive, retroactively forward-looking? Or something.

It's mostly breaks, with a little bit of housey-ness thrown in, 76-minute, 70MB MP3:

like oh my god...i'm going to my 20th high school reunion in two weeks and I was asked to bring some music. I'd like to spice things up...so I'm looking for 80's remixes. Hey all you bass worshippers... I teach spinning (in-door cycling) at 24 Hour fitness and I am always looking for great songs.

I need a variety of tempos (breaks are great for sprints...slower tempos needed for hill climbs).

Give me a list of songs, dj's or cd's that you think can help me out & I can download them...or if you want burn me a cd and I will come by & get it...whatever... I just want kick-ass music for my classes.

-Oh and if you want I can get you "free passes" to work out at 24 hour fitness (I say "free" because the cost will be time listening to the sales guys trying to sell you a membership...sorry I can't help that)...

Come and check me out if you can. I teach the following days:

* Thrs 7pm @ Church & Market

* Sat 5pm @ Potrero & 16th
